It is widely known that us Brits appreciate a bit of eccentricity on occasion. I am no exception to this! That is why I fell head over heels in love with this series of show bird portraits from British photographer, Luke Stephenson. Captivated by life in Britain and that which goes on apart from the mainstream, his photographs are sometimes playful, sometimes a little unnerving.
The main thing I love about this particular series of photographs, named The Incomplete Dictionary of Show Birds, is (surprise, surprise!) his use of coloured backgrounds next to the sorbet colours of the birds. Also, don’t the bird appear to be smiling?! What posers!

what a cool photographer indeed. I clicked on the link and checked out his other photographs. Have you seen his balloon animals and painted faces? These are the types of artists I enjoy – ones that are so far from mainstream.
Yeah, they’re awesome aren’t they?! I love the painted faces – kinda disturbing. I’m looking forward to seeing what else he comes up with!
Aww these are so cute! Thank you for sharing :D
They are, aren’t they?! They were too cute not to share ;)
